A Michigan eye doctor drew some attention recently when he hoisted the American flag outside his offices upside down.

Why? Traditionally, displaying the flag upside down is a distress signal. It is appropriate only when there is a dire emergency. Apparently, the good doctor feels as many of us do that the current state of the union does indeed constitute a dire emergency.
